Homocysteine

Homocysteine is an amino acid that plays a role in forming the lipid plaques that clog blood vessels. This test determines the level of homocysteine in the blood or urine.

Test Requirements

A fasting blood sample may be needed.

Preparation for Your Test

Do not eat or drink anything but water for 12 hours prior to your testing.

Wear a short sleeved shirt or a shirt with sleeves that roll up easily.

Cost

The cost of this test is $45.00.
